We’d like to thank everyone who has come out to the last few shows. We have another one coming up at Cheer Up Charlie’s in Austin on the 17th that should be a lot of fun. The video above is from the last Tantra show with Topher Sipes doing the live digital painting. We’re heading back out to the barn over the next couple of weeks to get some more of the album finished, so check back for some more video/audio/stories soon.
Just wanted to stop by and upload this short teaser video Matt put together for the new album. It gives some brief glimpses inside the barn and we have a slightly more in depth “barn tour” video on the way. We have six songs tracked excluding vocals, here is the list with working titles:
Bottom of the Gun
White Light Heat
Modern Age
E Song
Science
Blame the West
We’ll be doing another couple weeks of songwriting to finish up the remaining five or six songs and then more recording. Check back soon for more clips and things.
Greetings and happy early Thanksgiving everyone. Just wanted to check in and try to keep this semi regular posting going. We’ve had a couple productive practices up in Austin last week and are chugging along finishing the songs for the next full length record. The plan is to find a place to occupy for about a week and just record without too much distraction. This week’s media selection is an iphone recording of one of the songs that will probably be on the record. It’s Zac and I jamming in the garage of the duplex months and months ago and is actually the very first time the “song” was ever played. So there you have it, the recorded birth of a song. Hope you enjoy.

Hello everyone. We’re trying to post more things on here, so we’ll start with this. It’s a newish song tentatively titled Di Di and featuring our friend Dialect free styling a verse. Expect some more audio/video soon. We’re getting ready to record the next full length and still trying to finish up that EP we started so long ago.

Local news site newstreamz.com reviewed our 2007 album, Big Light. Check it out at http://newstreamz.com/2009/01/28/record-reviews-three-more-san-marcos-bands. They have a great “scene” section that covers a lot of local music- cool.
We’re not playing shows for a couple months, but rest assured that we’re not letting Three Leaf fall. We’re practicing more and working harder than ever! We don’t want to play another show until we can reveal a totally new set of songs. Refraining from playing shows frees us up to concentrate on nurturing all this new material.
Don’t know if the band will ever play this, but here’s an mp3 I recorded a couple weeks ago- enjoy.

Here are a couple songs we recorded at Firehouse in San Marcos a few years ago and never really did anything with. Kent was in Ghana so Jared took over bass duty on both tracks. We don’t really play either of these any more, but I’m sure a few of you will recognize them. In other news, we’re playing at Lucy’s next week (the 10th) and at Tantra the week after that to promote for Oxblood Masquerade (October 31-November 2). You can read more about Oxblood and buy tickets here. It should be a pretty great event and we’re all really looking forward to it. So here are the songs, if you’d like to download them leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do.

Hello internet users, Chris and Kent here. We’re sitting in a coffee shop about to head up to Austin to play the Invisible Children benefit show at the Blind Pig. If you some how read this before the show, it starts at 8pm and we go on at 11pm. Head on over if you can make it. We just wanted to post this demo we’ve been working on today, it’s called weird days and was written over in Ghana. It was a favorite of the Gouda guys, so this one is dedicated to them. Check out their myspace at www.myspace.com/goudagroup. Hope you enjoy the song and check back this weekend for some more pictures and possibly video.

Hello Everybody, and again, welcome to the launching of Three Leaf’s new and improved website! We’ll be posting music, videos, pictures, and other band info in this convenient and beautiful format- all designed by Chris. We hope you enjoy it and check back often. Feel free to post comments and ideas as always.
In Band News… Three of us have now graduated and are trying to keep learning and growing while hustling to support ourselves. Getting together to play has been harder than ever, so we’re learning to maximize our time- both together and apart. A huge key to our productivity is our recent investment in our mobile recording setup. Now every practice includes recording time and we now have demos for over 10 new songs in the works.
For this post, we’re making three demos available for download. All have working titles, so please offer up any suggestions. The first track, Working for You, features Kent and Chris on all instruments because no one else was around- it’s just a verse and chorus to give you a taste. The second is an unreahearsed jam with Chris on bass and Kent on Guitar (not to mention Zac Ogi on the drums). I’m just glad I hit the record button for this third informal acoustic performance from Chris. He wrote Natural Problem on the Mississippi canoe trip for Laura. Sorry to all you banjo fiends- Jared’s been busy with his nutrition major at UT- so you’ll have to chek back later for the “banjo in” versions.
Ok, I’ve said enough for now. So take care and Enjoy the Music!
