Hello 11 daily visitors to the site who tend to stay for 8.24 seconds and are almost all in the United States. I hooked up google analytics, so I can track that kind of information now. We promise to use this information for good only. Unless someone offers us lots of money for it. Anyhow, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to Eric’s place the other night, as well as Eric himself. It was a lot of fun and we got to try out some of the new songs we’ll be recording in about a week and a half. We also want to thank Bradley Oliver and Roger Sellers for playing, check them out. We got some video of the show we’ll put up later, until then here is some practice footage of a new song.

Greetings and happy early Thanksgiving everyone. Just wanted to check in and try to keep this semi regular posting going. We’ve had a couple productive practices up in Austin last week and are chugging along finishing the songs for the next full length record. The plan is to find a place to occupy for about a week and just record without too much distraction. This week’s media selection is an iphone recording of one of the songs that will probably be on the record. It’s Zac and I jamming in the garage of the duplex months and months ago and is actually the very first time the “song” was ever played. So there you have it, the recorded birth of a song. Hope you enjoy.

Hello everyone. We’re trying to post more things on here, so we’ll start with this. It’s a newish song tentatively titled Di Di and featuring our friend Dialect free styling a verse. Expect some more audio/video soon. We’re getting ready to record the next full length and still trying to finish up that EP we started so long ago.

Local news site newstreamz.com reviewed our 2007 album, Big Light. Check it out at http://newstreamz.com/2009/01/28/record-reviews-three-more-san-marcos-bands. They have a great “scene” section that covers a lot of local music- cool.

We’re not playing shows for a couple months, but rest assured that we’re not letting Three Leaf fall. We’re practicing more and working harder than ever! We don’t want to play another show until we can reveal a totally new set of songs. Refraining from playing shows frees us up to concentrate on nurturing all this new material.

Don’t know if the band will ever play this, but here’s an mp3 I recorded a couple weeks ago- enjoy.

Hello everyone. If you’re reading this, you are the most loyal of loyal friends and family. Or you’ve stumbled in on accident. Either way, we’re glad you’re here. We have not been very good as an internet entity as of late, and for that we’re sorry. We’ve made weekly posts from various public libraries along the Mississippi and painfully slow internet cafes in Ghana, yet somehow with all the technology of home, we haven’t managed to keep up with this site lately. The band is going through a pretty big transition right now. Roles are changing and focus is shifting. We’re not going to be playing any shows for a couple months while we figure this new sound out and prepare it for public consumption. During this time however, we will be posting here. New sounds and ideas. We can’t wait to share them with you. The pictures below are from our show last weekend at The Triple Crown, courtesy of Ashley Bird. You’ll hear from us soon.

Here are a couple songs we recorded at Firehouse in San Marcos a few years ago and never really did anything with. Kent was in Ghana so Jared took over bass duty on both tracks. We don’t really play either of these any more, but I’m sure a few of you will recognize them. In other news, we’re playing at Lucy’s next week (the 10th) and at Tantra the week after that to promote for Oxblood Masquerade (October 31-November 2). You can read more about Oxblood and buy tickets here. It should be a pretty great event and we’re all really looking forward to it. So here are the songs, if you’d like to download them leave a comment and I’ll see what I can do.

Hello again and welcome to this weekend’s installment of our internet site. We’ve been doing some more home recording the last few days trying to work out some new songs and get our gear under control. We also have a show this upcoming Thursday at the Blind Pig on 6th street. It’s a benefit for Invisible Children and starts around 8pm. Stop by for a good cause. We are also trying to get some long overdue t-shirts made. If you have any designs and/or design ideas, we’d love to hear them. That’s about it for now, but I’ll leave you with this video of Zac going crazy on the drums and a peek at the mobile recording setup.

Hello Everybody, and again, welcome to the launching of Three Leaf’s new and improved website! We’ll be posting music, videos, pictures, and other band info in this convenient and beautiful format- all designed by  Chris. We hope you enjoy it and check back often. Feel free to post comments and ideas as always.

In Band News… Three of us have now graduated and are trying to keep learning and growing while hustling to support ourselves. Getting together to play has been harder than ever, so we’re learning to maximize our time- both together and apart. A huge key to our productivity is our recent investment in our mobile recording setup. Now every practice includes recording time and we now have demos for over 10 new songs in the works.

For this post, we’re making three demos available for download. All have working titles, so please offer up any suggestions. The first track, Working for You, features Kent and Chris on all instruments because no one else was around- it’s just a verse and chorus to give you a taste.  The second is an unreahearsed jam with Chris on bass and Kent on Guitar (not to mention Zac Ogi on the drums).  I’m just glad I hit the record button for this third informal acoustic performance from Chris.  He wrote Natural Problem on the Mississippi canoe trip for Laura.  Sorry to all you banjo fiends- Jared’s been busy with his nutrition major at UT- so you’ll have to chek back later for the “banjo in” versions.

Ok, I’ve said enough for now.  So take care and Enjoy the Music!

So here it is. We wanted to start another website with the same idea that The Mississippi Trip and The Ghana Blog had. We’ll be putting some music and video up soon. Feel free to leave comments, ideas, suggestions, click on things, etc. here.
